MANILA, Philippines—Ateneo head coach Bo Perasol could not give a concrete answer on when the Blue Eagles’ main man Kiefer Ravena is suiting up anew.
Ravena was just in street clothes in the Blue Eagles’ 75-79 setback to Far Eastern University in overtime on Wednesday—missing a UAAP game for the first time in his college career.
He was also wearing a walking boot as he sat out Ateneo’s second game of the season due to a reported sprained ankle.
When asked by reporters for a time frame for Ravena’s return, Perasol said,” ’Di ko pa masasagot talaga. He’s out indefinitely.”
But Perasol said Ravena is scheduled for an MRI on Thursday to confirm the extent of his injury.
The new Blue Eagles coach has entertained the possibility that Ravena’s comeback could take longer than expected.
“Oo naman. Naisip ko yun. I have to think about the worst,” Perasol admitted.
But Perasol is resigned to the fact that they need their explosive guard if they want to make a deep run this UAAP season 76.
“I’m happy with how we played because we had a chance of winning. But it’s not going to be enough. We need him if we need to really go up,” said Perasol
